3-7-25   THOUGHTS

Humility of mind is our theme this morning.  We need the mind of Christ!  It is not intended that we would be a bunch of humble individuals bumping elbows at a given location.  This reading is looking for something far richer than that!  It looks for the MIND OF CHRIST SHARED!
We must absorb verses  2,3 and 4!  The words EMPTIED, HUMBLED and OBEDIENT are key!
This must happen in ME.  I cannot make it happen in US, but I must try!  Church, it’s the sense of souls seeking God for eternity!  Paul says “make my JOY complete.  It’s the way for us to complete our JOY!

Php 2:1-8    Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,  2  make my joy  complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. 3  Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;  4  do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. 5
Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,  6  who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,  7  but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.  8  Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled  Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

My Prayer:

Lord of All, teach us Your view of fellowship.  Sober us as we seek You.  Help us to rise to the level of rejoicing as we empty ourselves and humbly obey.  Remove from us all that frustrates this “coming to You” together.  We need You every hour.  May we thank You and praise You with every breath.  In Jesus’ precious name,    Amen.
